Craig Breedlove's powerful, Spirit of America, jet-powered record car
is prepared in the eerie silence of the Nevada desert for its assault
on the land speed record in August of 1997.
Breedlove managed 636 MPH in the flying mile, but couldn't best
the British built contender of Andy Green which broke the sound barrier one week later.
